Printing Museum 'LA Printers Fair' 2011 (WITH PICTURES)

Had a great time at the the Los Angeles Printers Fair (at the International Printing Museum)... and here are the photos! This event is AMAZING! Lots and lots of vendors! See and buy beautiful cards, prints and vintage paper illustrations & advertising. Educational demos of printing presses! Great to see such a lively crowd of attendees enjoying it all. It's an annual event now... so don't miss this!!!

Here are just some of the vendor tents set up outside the museum....
Plus there's a large tent full of individual artist vendors also outdoors... and a few more artists are set up inside the museum in the back....
A short hop from our Torrance showroom (on Western Ave, just north of Torrance Blvd), the delightful International Printing Museum is on Torrance Blvd, just east of us past the 110 Fwy in Carson. See the Dec 2010 posts here on the blog for pics from the museum's annual Charles Dickens Holiday Celebration. The dates for this year's Dickens are Saturday Dec 10th and Sunday Dec 11th, 2011!
Here's the program cover... The Los Angeles Printers Fair is the largest event of its kind in the west!
Click to enlarge these pages from the program interior, with further info on the event and the museum's programs....

The educational demos inside the museum are so much fun! The docents are passionate about printing!
Here's the museum's Gutenberg press... "the internet of its age"....
Everywhere you look there are cool artifacts from the history of printing....

The Printers Fair 2011 highlights included: a 1940s print shop; a letterpress swap meet; vendors; programming; gallery tours & live music. All for $5 admission (this is a special deal, reduced admission rate and includes BOTH the museum & the fair) and free parking (across the street in KMART lot; do NOT park in lot for recycling center, you'll be towed!).

Our SNB showroom is open Saturdays noon - 5PM. Make it a two-fer fun day! More info on the printers fair at http://www.printmuseum.org/printersfair/
