Paris 2017 -- sites and recommendations (1 of 9)

This is post #1 of 9 posts on France (Paris and Angouleme) 2017.

Some sites and recommendations around the city --- because it's Paris!

This bakery below has the BEST CROISSANTS!!!

Two places I always recommend to visit:
Shakespeare and Company bookstore
https://www.yelp.com/biz/shakespeare-et-company-paris

and they also have a cafe!

Claude Nature Natural History store

Paris is a city of enormous doorways. Often, these were built for horse-drawn carriages to enter a courtyard on the other side of the doors!
Today -- these doors are usually accompanied by a keypad entry system.... it's all about knowing the codes!

Doorway and courtyard at the Sorbonne....

A fantastic find this year! "Asia Room" Chinese restaurant.
Yummy vegetable dishes. Free WiFi. Brightly lit. Bi-lingual menu -- plus pictures.

Police horses on patrol!

From the gift shop:
Art Ludique: Le Musee http://artludique.com/index2.html
is a fantastic new museum, located walking distance from the Gare d'Austerlitz train station in Paris.

Yes -- these period costumed super heroes are an art display outside the train station!

More about Art Ludique museum.. from the website:

Abolishing the boundaries between comics, mangas, video games, live action cinema and animation films, Art Ludique highlights the works of talented creators of universes that mark our imaginations and influence the culture of our century. The drawings, paintings and sculptures created by large animation studios, super hero creators, cartoon characters and movie set designers, now have a proper exhibition space worthy of their worldwide recognised talent.

Art Ludique museum is from the team at the beloved animation art Gallery Arludik on l'isle Saint-Louis.
