Comic Con 2014 -- THE SNB BOOTH

With over 130,000 in attendance ... the crowds inside and outside the halls are impressive... waiting to see the wonderland of Comic Con.... here's what it looks like from the front door to the driveway in front of the convention center, where the shuttle buses drop-off guests ...

and here's a view at the front door of one of the halls ... just before the doors open ...

Meanwhile .. the amazing crew of friends and family that comprise the SNB comic con  team have been busy at the booth since TUESDAY .... here's the team in action for set-up ...

All the grids and shelves are built on-site by our crew of helpers ....

and all around us, the major companies are assembling their pavilions...
Here you can see the SNB-built grids and shelves BEFORE the books are placed...
 At the mid-way point...

And here's what it looks like Wednesday morning, when we arrive for final set-up and prepare for the rush and excitement of preview night...

Behind the drapes here is the NEW set-up for SNB 2014. This year Stuart opted for a more open set-up without our famous "bag-check" ...
So instead of a row of SNB banners on the outside of grids surrounding our booth, we had the one SNB banner at one entrance ...

And here's a view of the new booth set-up from the aisle ..

Wednesday morning is a time when many of artists and other exhibitors get out and "shop" each other's booths....

Here's our pal John Flesk's booth across the aisle from us and ready to go!

We debuted the import LOVE -THE LION -- the most recent title in a popular series of wordless french comics..

here's a link with more on this book: http://stuartngbooks.com/love-le-lion.html

Stuart has to balance his time between being at the booth to answer questions and help manage logistics with the signing ... PLUS getting out and about around the exhibit hall to connect with all his artist friends ..

For example .... Artist pal Paul Wee, Emmy award winning animator (the Simpsons), had a table all the way at the other end of the hall ....

So Stuart racked up some mileage on his sneakers getting back and forth to artist tables ... and getting back to the booth for the signings (here you see the back of his aloha shirt)

before you know it ... the show is over .. and it all has to come down!

Here's what Artists Alley looks like appx 1 hour after comic con closes....

It takes hours for us to tear down all our set-up .. box the books that are going back (many are purchases Stuart made at Comic Con) ....

By this point .. our intrepid crew is about done in!
But for the core team ... Stuart, Steve and John H .... the back-breaking work goes on till it's all done...

wrapped up and in the truck ... until we do it all again next year. This was Stuart's 16th year exhibiting at Comic Con!
