SNB invited to sell books at Disney 100 years event at the Studio lot (updated 10.21.23)

Stuart was able to honor a last-minute request and handle book sales for a very special event at the Disney Studios on Oct 15th & 16th -- celebrating 100 years of Disney.

Here are some photos (by SNB manager Terence) and text from the SNB Facebook page documenting that two day celebration.

SNB Facebook post: "We're at Walt Disney Studios #Disney100 Celebration, Sunday & Monday, Oct. 15-16. If you're attending this amazing exclusive event, drop by to say hello and pick up these fabulous titles for the signings event"

SNB is the exclusive distributor for the Hyperion Historical Alliance Academic Monograph series that are treasure troves of rare Disney history.. like these titles below...

SNB Facebook post: "Day 2 of our off-site sales event at Disney is now in the books! October 16th marks the 100th Anniversary of the studio's establishment, and we were honored to be invited for  bookselling support on the lot for the amazing book signings happening throughout the day. Our thanks to Walt Disney Studios as we hope to be a part of more of these special events and to develop a deeper relationship with the studio in our future endeavors"

For many years, Stuart has been called on to handle sales for signing events at various film and animation studios. They know they can count on him to get the books to the event on time, and provide outstanding customer service for the attendees. Stuart has also been a guest exhibitor at studio campus events where artists set up tables to sell and share their personal work.

Sharing this part of studio life is a benefit for Stuart and his crew too.

Few get to see the effort it takes to make these events run so smoothly. From ordering books to be shipped to the store.. or site.. ahead of time. To processing all the copies and managing all the sales transactions. At events like this, Stuart and his crew know how to keep attendees happy. And keep signing lines moving smoothly for author/artist guests.

When one of these events arrives on Stuart's calendar with very short notice.. on top of deadlines already in place for an upcoming convention (in this case, the upcoming Lightbox Expo)... it does strain the resources of Stuart and the staff.

I really appreciated hearing that the Disney crew took very good care of Stuart and his team during this two night event.

Stuart brings experienced manpower and depth of book and artist knowledge to pop-ups like this. Having Stuart onsite allows studios to delegate book sales, and provide extra benefits of Stuart’s expertise to their guests and attendees. Not just his skills as a niche, indie bookseller since 1997. Stuart is a lifelong collector himself of books on illustration, animation and comic art. Leading artists in these fields come to him for a collection of books selected by his discerning eye. It's amazing to see him in action at conventions, signings, pop-ups and in the SNB Torrance store. Stuart helps industry icon artists find inspiring reference material to help them problem solve art assignments. He guides seasoned collectors to new-to-them artists to discover. He can speak with instructions, students, and new fans to these genres. Stuart was recognized with a Community Icon Award at the inaugural Lightbox Expo. Celebrating his nearly 30 years of service to artists.https://stuartngbooks.blogspot.com/2019/09/lightboxexpo2019-concept-art-awards-5.html

Events like this also introduce new patrons to SNB, as well as giving longtime friends and clients a chance to stop by.
