Fashioned by Sargent -- inside the exhibition and the catalog (4.14.24)

Oh how I wish this exhibition would tour more! This show matches famous Sargent works with the actual fashions depicted. What a resource for scholars/fans of art and textiles!  The show debuted in Boston and is at the Tate in London now. The Exhibition catalog is at the SNB store and on the website. There are less than 10 copies in stock as of 4.14.24.

From the Facebook page "Corseted Beauty" shared on 3.5.24

These next photos are by Chandra Lothian from the Facebook page "The History List" in Jan 2024.

This next photo shows a swatch of fabric from the dress in the painting above.

What a collection to see all together! amazing...

You Wish by Jeff Victor

This is a post in progress. The book is coming soon to SNB.

More info once the book is in stock. We hope to have signed copies available. Offering signed copies is a way Stuart can stock books that are in print and currently available on other sites. Many of Stuart's mail order clients can't get to the conventions where artists appear at signings etc. Stuart's clients appreciate access to copies that have been in the hands of artists they collect and admire. Benefits made possible by Stuart's connection with so many artists over decades now.

I got my copy from longtime artist friend Jeff Victor while he was exhibiting at WonderCon. "You Wish" is an exciting read with a wonderful color story and lots of "making of" pages in the back.
