Angouleme 2016

Angouleme festival 2016 featured some of the mildest winter weather we ever experienced in France.
Previous Angouleme posts on the blog have documented annual goings-on at the festival.. http://stuartngbooks.blogspot.com/2015/02/angouleme-2015-post-in-progress.html

Sunny days set the tone for 2016, in spite of dust up over nominations for the Grand Prix.
Lucky Luke was featured in an art exhibit.. and on the Festival vehicles..
along with the official mascot (le Fauve)

The tents were packed as usual....

Here's a peek at the official 2016 festival souvenirs...

Angouleme is still all about artists.. here's Pierre Alary...

Long line of fans waiting for sketches by this longtime SNB pal...
Stuart made the rounds meeting up with friends and colleagues. He's here with artist Terryl Whitlatch, showing her book to a French publisher...

Day time scenery...

The festival goes on at night.. with programs and screening and long business dinners long after the tent close...

Before you know it... another Festival closes
