Angouleme 2020 (2 of 5) -- the Musee (updated 2.17.20)

The city's Museum is only steps away from the festival.

They have a renowned paleontology department there, and enjoyed an epic find in the field last July -- the largest in-tact thigh bone of the largest land dinosaur!

The specimen is on display...

Along with a captivating film storybook with video within the "pages" that helps explain the exhibits.





The illustrations of the dinosaurs are by French artist Mazan ... a classmate of the famous Claire Wendling! Small world right???

There is an English language audio tour of the Musee available as well..

This celtic golden helmet is a rare find and a highlight of the museum's collection.

I liked this reminder. We live and pass on, but art and culture survive us...
