Paris 2020 (8 of 12) -- Eiffel Tower

The base of the tower was being renovated, but still plenty of tourists lining up, even on a very windy day, to take the ride up to the restaurant/viewing area.

I just walked around the monument ... enjoying the view.
Can you spot the in-flight urban wildlife in this shot..

The cement base has some interesting motif details.... click on pic to enlarge...
You can see the scaffolding for renovations at the tower's base in shot below...
along with some flowers...
Pink blossoms on this tree hinted of spring...

Did you know the terrific "American Library in Paris" is only steps away from the Eiffel Tower???
It's a private library now.. but you can purchase passes for a single day or a week. They also have a wonderful Facebook page.
I had planned to donate this book to the library.... or leave it on the "free book" rack they had on my previous visit. However, they don't have the rack anymore, and don't accept donations. They do provide a list of places that will accept books. Instead, I left the book in the lobby of our hotel (with the staff's permission)... along with an inscription inside that the book was free and to please enjoy reading it. Then report back to the author where they found the book, then pass the book on. It's a tart, brisk read memoir by a cancer survivor who took a risk and accepted a job to teach in China. You can learn more about the author here: http://www.lifeonitsside.com/chaos
