Empty Saddle Club western horse show 2011 -- kids activities

In addition to all the gymkhana riding competitions, there's an education aspect to the city celebration. The local Nature Center has a table that displays artifacts from local plants and wildlife:




There are tents with reps from city and county services.... also vendors... and lots for kids. Here's a peek at the petting zoo:
Pony rides for the wee ones...
And saw horses with lassos and practice horns for rowdy cowpokes....
There's a sand pit made of dried corn kernels held in by hay bales...

The local 4-H raised funds by selling food and drinks:
There were hay rides...
And news of the stable and its activities posted on the bulletin board.
